If we were given equal chances, choices, intellect and blessings of any kind; we would not be satisfied. It is our nature to act that way. When we've less or more it doesn't matter, we want to have a little more than others. That's our nature. Hence, some of us have more wealth while some have more beauty. We all are given abundance in one to many things; to satisfy our nature. We're not always able to understand things, so thank Allah always; for what He does is always better and right.

Merit System in Society
Not everything must be done on merit, because some people can't afford to be on merit these days. Their physical state, financial status and other factors involving them imply, affect and detour their position to be on merit. Hence, some things must be done freely for all, like people should get more compensation. It's a must thing to maintain the balance in society.
